The Department of Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation is seeking to engage a Senior Developer (HPC Optimisation) to assist with projects, training and operational support. DETSI currently maintain Linux and Microsoft Windows-based high performance computing clusters, mass data storage systems, and ancillary infrastructure to support a diverse user base focused on scientific computing. Typical workloads range from satellite image processing to climate science, with machine learning and other innovative techniques actively explored. Skills required include programming in languages such as Python, Fortran, R or C++ in current best practice software engineering, with specific focus on benchmarking and optimisation. Skills required will also include proficiency of High Performance Compute (HPC) clusters, batch management software and supporting parallel applications.
