The Parole Board Queensland was established under the Corrective Services Act 2006 (CSA) on 3 July 2017 as an independent authority and its statutory functions and powers are exercised independently of influence by Queensland Corrective Services (QCS).The Parole Board Queensland Secretariat is a command established under the Community Corrections and Specialist Operations division, QCS. The Secretariat, which includes the Legal Services Unit, supports the Board through the provision of administrative and legal support in accordance with QCS’ statutory obligations under the CSA relating to the operations of the Board.
