As a Prison Mental Health Indigenous Health Worker you will play a vital role in facilitating supportive and meaningful liaisons between the Central Queensland Prison Mental Health Service and persons with an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander heritage who are also open clients of the PMHS. You will be instrumental in developing and supporting a strong network within the community and mental health services to provide culturally appropriate, respectful and person-centred care. You will liaise with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders across correctional and community environments to coordinate a holistic approach to recovery and wellbeing, particularly during the transition surrounding release from custody.
