Rapid Response works as a fast response to sudden surges in youth offending and youth crime hotspots in regions of Queensland. We deploy teams to provide strategic advice, additional resources, evidence-based support and upskill regional youth service centres to combat youth offending. The team works closely with the community during deployment to deliver sustainability in the capability and capacity of service centres. During each deployment, Rapid Response aims to: • increase the capability of regional service centres to provide consistent, evidence-based service responses, referrals and working with community to effectively reduce reoffending in Queensland • increase public safety and community confidence • contribute to decrease overrepresentation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youths in the youth justice system.
