The Innisfail work unit is seeking a Wildlife Ranger who is able to work collaboratively in a team. This role’s focus area is the management of cassowaries, crocodiles and other native wildlife in the Cassowary Coast Region and the greater Far North. Wildlife Rangers provide a range of services, including advice, assessment and auditing of permits and other authorities under the Nature Conservation Act 1992. The activities can be physically demanding and include survey and monitoring of threatened species in the field, emergency wildlife response, maintenance of field equipment and safety systems, and education and training. A broad skill set in operational tasks and equipment use and maintenance, along with proficient administrative skill set would be ideal.
