The Aquatic Ecosystem Health team delivers essential water quality and ecological monitoring across Queensland, supporting regional and Great Barrier Reef report cards and evidence‑based environmental decisions. As Science Leader (PO6), you will guide high‑level scientific programs, lead research and innovation, and provide expert advice on complex aquatic ecosystem assessments. You will build strong partnerships with regional bodies, universities and government agencies, lead multidisciplinary teams, and drive the development of monitoring tools, reporting products and strategic policy insights that enhance Queensland’s waterway health. As a senior leader, you will also manage financial, capital, intellectual property and human resources, fostering a high‑performing, collaborative and solutions‑focused culture aligned with the department’s vision.
