Professional Standards Command Internal Investigations Unit (IIU) has recently expanded to allow for family violence and sexual abuse (including child sexual abuse) involving police to be investigated separately to other matters, and with specialisation in a trauma informed practice that is victim centric. The investigation support officer is a critical component within the investigative team whose objective is achieving strong outcomes in matters that are sensitive and can be complex, fast-paced and dynamic. This is an exciting opportunity to hold a newly created position and to be part of a brand-new initiative to provide improved support to investigators and victim-survivors (police or civilian) of family violence and sexual abuse (including child sexual abuse) involving police.
